Casting Released for LTO’s ‘It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play’

Little Theatre of Owatonna is pleased to announce the cast for its holiday production of “It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play” that will take place in the Sharon Stark Auditorium at West Hills November 29th – December 2nd. The Artistic Director is Victoria Bartkowiak and the Technical Director is Naomi Jirele.

This beloved American holiday classic comes to captivating life as a live 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

The Cast

Matthew Jessop – Jake Laurents, actor playing George Bailey; Nicole Vangen – Sally Applewhite, actress playing Mary Hatch; Abigail Barnes – Lana Sherwood, actress playing Violet Bick and others; Michael Jensen – Harry “Jazzbo” Haywood, actor playing Clarence the angel; Jon Esch – Freddie Filmore, Announcer and others.

The WLTO Playhouse of the Air Players: (In no particular order)

Don Boesen; Jon Bakken; Curt Jorgensen; Dianne Suarez; Mark Zollner; Lisa Biwer; David Phillips; Lila Bartkowiak; Joshua Bartkowiak; Gracyn Durand; Henry Jessop; Molly Boyd; Zach Knapton

Performances will be 7:30 PM on November 29th, 30th and December 1st. Matinee performances will be 2:00 PM on December 2nd. Season Membership holders can secure their seats with their season flex passes on November 10th online and tickets will be available online for the general public on November 17th. The LTO Box Office opens November 26th.

About LTO

Little Theatre of Owatonna was organized in April 1966 to bring “culture, entertainment” to Owatonna and the surrounding communities with active participation by all.” LTO has produced over  200 plays. The productions are presented fall, winter, spring, summer, and a holiday show every other year.
