Little Theatre of Owatonna was organized in April 1966, to bring “culture, art, and entertainment to Owatonna and the surrounding communities with active participation by all interested.” Although only 13 people were involved in starting the theater, the number has since swelled to 220 charter members. Little Theatre is run by a board of directors which consists of 12 members and an executive secretary. In addition, hundreds of citizens have heard the “roar of the crowd”. Plays have included musicals, dramas, comedies and children’s plays. LTO does four plays each season including a fall, winter, spring and summer show. On occasion, a fifth show is added during the Christmas season.
