LTO Announces 2018 Veta Alexander Scholarship Winners
Little Theatre of Owatonna is pleased to announce its 2018 Veta Alexander Little Theatre of Owatonna Scholarship winners. They include 2018 Owatonna High School graduates:
Nick Hagen, son of Robert and Erin Hagen, Owatonna;
Jessica Hager, daughter of Ron and Brenda Hager, Owatonna; and
Caroline Nelson, daughter of Stephen and Peggy Nelson, Ellendale.
Recipients were chosen based on their academic record, community involvement, leadership quality, school activities, and involvement in LTO and/or other drama productions. Funds for this scholarship are provided by LTO patrons as four percent of each shows’ earnings are earmarked for this scholarship as well as individual donations and memorials made to the Veta Alexander Scholarship Fund.
Recipients will use these scholarships to further their education. Hagen plans to study Art Management and Entrepreneurship at Gustavus Adolphus College. Hager will attend Bethany Lutheran College or Morningside College to study nursing. Nelson will study music and humanities/education at St Thomas University.
Recipients will be acknowledged at the Owatonna High School Academic and Scholarship Awards Night, Wednesday, May 23. A formal presentation will be made at the OHS One Act Festival, 7 PM, Thursday, May 31. Recipients will also be recognized on opening night of the LTO’s summer production, “Seussical” Friday evening, July 12.
